Amon Kemboi

Kenya

One of three former Falmouth Road Race winners in the field, Kemboi is the defending champion and posted a swift 31:12 clocking of the course last year only two days after finishing third in the Falmouth Elite Mile. Kemboi will set his focus solely on the Falmouth Road Race this year as he tries to join an exclusive club of back-to-back champions. A native of Kenya, Kemboi was a multi-time All-American during his collegiate career at Arkansas.

Ben Flanagan

Canada

After running from the back in 2025, Flanagan will start at the front this year as he looks for a fourth Falmouth Road Race trophy to add to his mantle. Aside from 2025, Flanagan has only lost once on the streets of Falmouth. The 2024 Canadian Olympian made his marathon debut this year in Toronto and has been announced as a part of this year’s Chicago Marathon elite field. The 2018 NCAA 10,000m champion now calls Cape Cod home, as he resides in Bourne with his wife and daughter.

Conner Mantz

USA

One of the most decorated American long-distance runners of this generation, Mantz was a two-time NCAA Cross Country Champion for the BYU Cougars and now competes professionally for Nike. He holds American Records in both the half marathon and the full marathon. He has won multiple national championships on the roads and has been the top American finisher at all three major marathons in the US. Mantz looks forward to adding a Falmouth Road Race title to his long list of accolades after his first Falmouth.

Drew Hunter

USA

Drew Hunter won the US 5KM Championships earlier this year in Indianapolis and later returned to the track to set a personal best in the 5000m, clocking 13:05 in Los Angeles. Now representing ASICS, Hunter will compete in both the Falmouth Mile and the Falmouth Road Race. This will be his third time competing in Falmouth but his first time running the Falmouth Road Race.

Edwin Kurgat

Kenya

One of many former NCAA Cross Country Champions in this year’s Falmouth Road Race field, Kurgat won the title in 2019 while competing for Iowa State University. A 2024 Paris Olympian, Kurgat finished 7th in the 5000m representing his home country of Kenya. Kurgat trains in Flagstaff, Arizona with the Under Armour Dark Sky group and will look to improve on his third place finish from 2023 in the Falmouth Road Race.

Graydon Morris

USA

A rising star on the US road racing scene, Morris won his first national title this year, running 46:18 at the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile. In 2025, he finished ninth in the Falmouth Road Race and has only improved since then. Morris represents Puma and trains in North Carolina under coaches Alistair and Amy Cragg.

Habtom Samuel

Eritrea

One of the most dominant NCAA runners in recent memory, Samuel claimed five individual NCAA championships during his time at the University of New Mexico. Now turning his sights to professional road racing, the 23-year-old Eritrean has already garnered victories at the Houston Half Marathon and the Beach to Beacon Road Race. His 10,000m personal best of 26:51 cements him as one of the favorites in this year’s Falmouth Road Race.

Pat Tiernan

Australia

Tiernan was the 2016 NCAA Cross Country champion during his time as a Villanova Wildcat. Since then, he has gone on to represent Australia multiple times on the global stage, including at three Olympic Games. This will be Tiernan’s second time in Falmouth after finishing 8th in 2022. His wife, Angel, won the 2025 Falmouth Elite Mile.

Peter Lynch

Ireland

The Irish record holder in the marathon with his 2:06:08 run in London, Lynch is also the first Irish man to break one hour in the half marathon, doing so in New York earlier this year. The native of Kilkenny will compete at Falmouth for the first time, hoping to add to an already record-setting 2026 and become the first Irish man to win the Falmouth Road Race.

Wesley Kiptoo

USA

The 2023 Falmouth Road Race champion, Kiptoo tied the fastest time ever run in Falmouth by a man with a blistering 31:08. Born in Marakwet, Kenya, he is now a citizen of the United States of America and will represent the USA at this year’s World Road Running Championships in Denmark after his victory at the US Half Marathon Championships. A former Iowa State Cyclone, Kiptoo was the 2021 NCAA champion in the indoor 5000m.

Zouhair Talbi

USA

A 2024 Paris Olympian for Morocco, Talbi is now an American Citizen and hopes to represent Team USA by the 2028 Olympics. He finished 5th at the Boston Marathon earlier this year, making it from Hopkinton to Boylston Street in 2:03:45. Another veteran on the Falmouth course, Talbi has competed here twice before, posting his best finish in 2025 when he claimed 5th place. Talbi is a member of the U.S. Army Reserves.

Elite Women

Annie Rodenfels

USA

A former DIII standout for Centre College, Annie Rodenfels is now a two-time national champion, winning back-to-back titles at the USA 5K Championships. She ran her fastest 10K in June of 2026, placing ninth at the Mastercard New York Mini 10K in 32:02. Rodenfels represents Salomon and is a member of Team Meridia.

Carrie Ellwood

USA

Elwood ran a personal best of 2:22:53 in April at the 2026 Boston Marathon, where she finished 10th. She won the Indianapolis Half Marathon last fall by nearly two minutes, running 1:08:34. She trains with the ASICS Mammoth Track Club in Mammoth Lakes, California.

Elise Cranny

USA

The American record holder in the indoor 5000m, Cranny is a two-time Olympian and four-time national champion on the track. She has continued to find success on the roads, with a runner-up finish at this year’s Beach to Beacon Road Race. Cranny was a multi-time All-American at Stanford and now competes professionally for Nike.

Emma Grace Hurley

USA

Emma Grace is the top returner in the women’s field after her runner-up performance in 2025 in one of the closest finishes the women’s race has ever seen. Competing for ASICS, Hurley will represent the USA at the World Road Running Championships this fall in Copenhagen. This will be Emma Grace’s fourth consecutive Falmouth Road Race, and she will toe the line as one of the pre-race favorites.

Everlyn Kemboi

Kenya

Returning to Falmouth for the fourth consecutive year, Kemboi has placed inside the top ten each time. In July, she found success on the streets of Davenport, Iowa, winning the Bix 7 by nearly 30 seconds. The 30-year-old Kenyan will carry her momentum into Falmouth as one of the most experienced runners in the field.

Jackie Gaughan

USA

Representing Saucony, Gaughan returns to Falmouth for the second year in a row looking to build on her 18th place finish in 2025. She holds a personal best of 2:24:40 in the marathon and 1:10:01 in the half marathon. A native of Exeter, NH, Gaughan now lives and trains in Boston.

Jessica McClain

USA

Returning to Falmouth for the first time since 2017, Jess McClain has made a name for herself as one of the top American long-distance runners, consistently finding herself in the top 10 at major marathons. Notably, she placed 5th at the 2026 Boston Marathon, setting a new American Course Record in 2:20:49. The former Stanford Cardinal now competes for Brooks and will represent the United States at the World Road Running Championships this fall in Copenhagen.

Megan Sailor

USA

A member of the Boston Athletic Association High Performance Team, Sailor recently lowered her personal best in the marathon this winter, running 2:25:17 at the California International Marathon. A former Golden Gopher at the University of Minnesota, Sailor placed 9th at the 2025 Falmouth Road Race.

Mercy Chelangat

Kenya

Some of the best female Kenyan marathoners ever have claimed victories in Falmouth, most recently Hellen Obiri and Edna Kiplagat, both multiple-time major marathon champions. Chelangat will look to add her name to that list this year and improve on her fifth-place finish from last year. After an illustrious collegiate career at the University of Alabama where she won two NCAA titles, Chelangat joined the HOKA Northern Arizona Elite team under coach Jack Mullaney and has flourished in the longer distances, running 2:20:30 to earn a fourth place finish at the 2026 Boston Marathon.

Pamela Kosgei

Kenya

Kosgei claimed titles in both the 5000m and 10,000m at the 2025 Outdoor NCAA Championships, earning valuable points for the University of New Mexico Lobos during her freshman campaign. Making her road debut only a few weeks ago, she won the Beach To Beacon Road Race and will carry her momentum into Falmouth. Pamela’s older sister, Brigid, is an Olympic silver medalist in the marathon and former marathon world record holder.
