Snow and Jones is approaching their second year as a sponsor for The Falmouth Road Race after being approached with the opportunity to provide an ice station for the last race. President Danielle Jones says it was “such a perfect fit” for the two organizations to overlap, allowing them to both support the race and playfully highlight their own equipment.
Next year, Snow and Jones will be celebrating their 75th year as a wholesale distributor of plumbing and heating equipment. Danielle Jones stepped into the role of President in March of 2020 after two decades of dedication, and the organization is now in their third generation of being family-owned since 1952.
“What we do best is being that extra hand of support in lending quicker service and technical information,” says Jones. “We know our customers inside and out and what they’re looking for.”
Snow and Jones is now captained by four family members and a full team of employees staffing their decorative showrooms, selling their products, and building those lasting relationships with customers over the past three-quarters of a century. One thing is for certain: “We’re really lucky that our family gets along so well.”
Danielle’s grandfather Robert Jones and his brother Jimmy Jones founded Snow and Jones in Brockton, and they expanded to Cape Cod in 1983 with locations in Falmouth, Yarmouth, and Sandwich – “We touch all corners of the Cape,” says Jones. “We have so many clients and customers that are also families and we cater to a strong residential base of clients in Falmouth, it’s rewarding.”
Jones also finds investing in the local community rewarding, and for years before joining as a sponsor, Snow and Jones has been heavily involved in fundraising for Compassionate Care ALS (CCALS). As a Cape Cod-based non-profit organization with a mission to assist people physically, emotionally, and spiritually, CCALS navigates the complexities of living with ALS from a holistic approach. Last year, they presented the 50th running of the Falmouth Road Race Wheelchair Division.
“They are fantastic,” says Jones. “When they built their new center we donated all the plumbing fixtures and we have been doing fundraising for them ever since. We had a family member diagnosed with ALS who passed recently and that made it even more of a passion project for us.”
Snow and Jones has had a very strong relationship with CCALS and the Founder and Executive Director, Ron Hoffman, ever since. “That man is doing God’s work,” says Jones. “He is so dedicated and passionate and generous, it’s impressive to watch.” CCALS runs a powerful charity team for the Falmouth Road Race, often in the top three for fundraising and generating over $350,000 each year.
With their CCALS connection, Snow and Jones found that furthering their relationship with the road race felt like a natural fit. Now in their second year sponsoring the race, they will be providing a cooling station along the course again. “The road race team approached us about the ice station, and we thought it was a playful way for us to be involved and a good way to support the community.”
The ice station will be sporting its classic Snow and Jones umbrellas for runners to catch some shade under, take some ice, and find a quick hit of relief along the course. “When running on a hot day we hope the cooling station is a little bit of luxury,” shares Jones.
“It’s been great to be involved and get positive feedback on the ice being greatly appreciated.” Runners can take a look out for the ice station along their run and know they’re keeping cool courtesy of Snow and Jones, a community-focused and family-owned company in their 75th year as a wholesale distributor of plumbing and heating.
