History
Started in 1995, the Falmouth Mile was a companion event to the Falmouth Road Race. Historically taking place at the Falmouth High School James T. Kalperis track, behind the Health & Fitness Expo, it has developed into an exciting track festival including several races – in a typical year, The Tommy Cochary High School Mile kicks off the events at 7:00 PM, followed by The Wheelchair Mile and The Falmouth Elite Mile, featuring invited world-class milers.
The Falmouth Elite Mile has played host to more than two dozen Olympians, including Nick Willis, Morgan Uceny, Amy Rudolph, Carmen Douma-Hussar, Carrie Tollefson, Suzy Hamilton, Donn Cabral, Marc Davis, Robert Gary, Jason Pyrah, and 2012 Olympic silver medalist Leo Manzano.
The event records are held by Dorcas Eqoi (4:23.11, 2024) and Charles Philibert-Thiboutot (3:52.97, 2021).
