The Falmouth Road Race Welcomes Erika Sheinhait to the Team as the New Creative Director

FALMOUTH, Mass. — The Falmouth Road Race is pleased to announce that Erika Sheinhait has joined Race Management as a new year-round team member. With many years of experience in sports communications, she brings fresh purpose and expertise to the team in the brand new role of Creative Director.

Growing up a New England sports fan, sports have always been her true passion. She caught every Red Sox game possible with her dad growing up in Framingham, Massachusetts and graduated from Western New England University with a major in Sports Management. She knew she wanted to go into communications but when questioning what to communicate about sports were the resounding answer.

In college, Sheinhait expected to go into professional sports management until she learned about all of the other opportunities in the nonprofit world. She explains: “It opened my eyes to a whole different part of the industry.” After a couple of years interning for Bay State Games, a nonprofit organization hosting Olympic-style amateur athletic events, she was promoted to Director of Communications.

As Director, she managed everything under the umbrella of communications and handled their Numbers for Nonprofits team, which involved running a charity team for the ASICS Falmouth Road Race. Before working for the race, she worked with the race – and was compelled by witnessing its positive impact on everyone involved. “There is such a strong connection to community,” says Sheinhait. “From what I’ve already seen, people are so excited about this event that they want to be a part of it in any way they can, so even having a small piece in it myself is really valuable.”

Sheinhait is thrilled to bring her creative vision to the table and to be a part of such a dedicated, passionate team. “The people here are just amazing,” she says. “I felt comfortable right off the bat. Everyone here is so knowledgeable, and their voices are heard and contribute to something important.”

Her first season in the office is sure to keep her on her toes, but what she is looking forward to most is race day. Sheinhait describes: “The best part of working events is you’re working on it for months and months and it all comes down to this little piece of people’s lives that you actually get to see come to fruition.”

She’ll be moving down to Falmouth for a future full of race days, and is looking forward to spending her first summer on the Cape. A casual runner herself, her true love has always been swimming. “I feel more comfortable in the water,” she laughs. She’ll find herself right at home on the Cape, and more than welcomed as the newest member of the Falmouth Road Race team.
